Today is the first day of a long weekend and, as I don’t usually work Tuesdays, this means I have the next four days off work. Four days of no commitments. Four days of sleep-ins and doing whatever I want. While many Australians will use the long weekend to go away camping or down the coast, I am staying at home.

But what will you do, I hear you ask.

Well, I have recently been inundated with story ideas and so will try to write as many of them down as possible. I’ve just started reading a book which, while it hasn’t completely grabbed me yet, definitely has potential. And I have been really enjoying my Enchanted Forest adult colouring book (yes, I’m one of those people). The words, ideas, shapes and colours will pull me in, tempting me with their promises of possibility. I will dutifully follow into the depths of my imagination and resurface on the other side of this long weekend, changed but still recognisable.

Essentially, I will shun the world to live in a creative bubble for four days.
